December’s selection for our Nature Book Club is a classic: Pulitzer Prize winner, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard.
“The book is a form of meditation, written with headlong urgency, about seeing. A reader’s heart must go out to a young writer with a sense of wonder so fearless and unbridled…There is an ambition about her book that I like…It is the ambition to feel.”
—Eudora Welty, New York Times Book Review
The “Bookworms: A Book Club for Nature Lovers” is a joint program of our Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership organization and the naturalist staff (Kristin is our key partner!) with Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space; and we’d love to have you join us!
Participation in the club is FREE, but registration is required and spots (especially for the in-person club) are limited because of COVID/public health requirements and they go quickly! Fortunately, we’re able to accommodate more members on the virtual club meeting.
December’s meetings are:
—In-person club meeting (with a guided walk/talk at Star K Ranch in Aurora on the Greenway); Saturday, December 12, 3 – 4:30 pm
—Virtual club meeting (via Zoom); Wednesday, December 16, 6 – 7:30 pm
To Register:
Go to www.AuroraGov.Org/Nature, Click the “Click Here To Register for Nature Programs”, Select “Morrison Nature Center “or Search “Bookworm”
We’ve created a reading guide with suggested questions and discussion ideas for December’s meetings, which you can download it here:
