February marks a milestone and an opportunity for our Bookworms Nature Book Club–we’ve added a third partner to the team–Aurora Public Library!

The Libraries have graciously included our Bookworms Nature Book Club on their website, with an easy link for registration (which is free!). www.auroragov.org/bookclubs

This means book club members can gain free use of audio and virtual book resources–all that’s required is a Colorado mailing address! Information about getting borrowing privileges:

Folks will need to send an email to APLReference@auroragov.org with some basic identification information to get their library card and access to free books.

Information on how to get a traditional or virtual library card can be found at the Aurora Public Libraries website. A virtual library card can be acquired with a simple email and will give you access to e-Books and audio books via the Libby/Overdrive or Hoopla app, which you can download to a kindle or Smartphone. To loan book hard copies, you will need a ‘Traditional Library Card’ this will require you to visit a library, in person. For next steps information on both virtual and traditional library cards, please visit this page.

Now, onto February’s book, The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery. We’ll be meeting virtually on Saturday, Februrary 20 from 3 – 4:30 pm!

Our free Reading Guide with extra resources, additional books of interest and discussion questions can be downloaded here.

Why read about octopus? While they don’t live in Sand Creek, they do open our understanding of the intelligence and capabilities of animals. It is a great read!

Another bit of news–we’ve announced our selections for the rest of 2021!

Jump in and join us to discuss these great books this year!
