It was our pleasure to welcome new board members to Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership at our November meeting–talented and dedicated folks who will work to set the strategic direction of our nonprofit organization, act as fiduciary stewards, and ensure the Greenway is developed and supported as a regional resource.
Our board leadership includes:
Tom Tobiassen, new board chair, representing Bicycle Aurora; Bob LeGare, new vice chair, Mayor of Aurora; Shannon McAvoy, secretary; Rob Price of Denver Botanic Gardens, treasurer.
We also bid farewell to longtime board member and board chair, Paul Frohardt; and Beth Chacon who served as a representative of Xcel Energy. Paul and Beth devoted many hours in service to Sand Creek Greenway and we’re most grateful for their enthusiasm and leadership.
The new board will start work on plans for celebrating our 20th anniversary as a nonprofit in 2020, strengthening our efforts to widen awareness and use of the Greenway, building sustaining support for the organization. Trail developments and improvements, habitat restoration and volunteerism, encouraging area residents to discover and enjoy our trail and riparian areas, and continuing our environmental education efforts in the community will continue as goals central to our work.
Thank you to everyone for you expertise, dedication and service!
